Israel Schachter and Scooter Braun

Enjoying a casual moment together. These are the connections that matter most, simple, genuine, and full of warmth.

One of the busiest people I know is Scott “Scooter” Braun. Somehow, he’s also one of the quickest people to respond any time I reach out.

It's not because he isn’t busy. He’s insanely busy. He just respects people enough to get back to them.

In my experience, that’s true of many of the busiest and most successful people I know. They respond. The answer may be yes, no, or simply, “not right now.” Those are all acceptable answers. At least you know where you stand.

What I don’t understand is silence.

When did being busy become an excuse for ignoring people? We’re all busy. You don’t need an hour to respond to someone. You don’t even need five minutes. Sometimes all it takes is, “Got this. Let me come back to you.”

I try very hard to do the same. If you took the time to reach out to me, I’ll always do my best to get back to you. I may not be able to help, I may have to say no, and I may not have the answer you want, but I will give you the basic courtesy of an answer.

You don’t owe everyone a yes, but you do owe people basic respect.

Respond.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Scott "Scooter" Braun is described as one of the busiest people Israel Schachter knows, yet also one of the quickest to respond when contacted. Despite his demanding schedule, Braun makes time to answer messages, whether with yes, no, or a request to reconnect later. Schachter observes that this pattern of responsiveness extends beyond Braun to many of the busiest and most successful people in his circle.

Schachter expresses frustration with silence as an excuse for not responding to people. He argues that being busy is universal and does not justify ignoring others, noting that a response need not take long, sometimes just a brief acknowledgment like "Got this. Let me come back to you" suffices. He emphasizes that people deserve basic courtesy and respect when they make the effort to reach out.

Schachter commits to following the same principle in his own interactions, pledging to respond to anyone who takes time to contact him. While he acknowledges that responses may sometimes be no or an answer the other person does not want to hear, he values giving people clarity about where they stand. According to Schachter, people do not owe everyone a yes, but they do owe basic respect through responsiveness.

Nothing beats quality moments with friends and making memories that last, according to the post.
