We're doing a soap launch in partnership with Mystic Essance and Kingdom Business & Royal Collectives, encouraging people to try out these soaps that have been around for a long time.
The History Of Soap
History tells us that soap dates back nearly 5,000 years, with the earliest recorded soap-making recipe found on a Babylonian clay tablet around 2800 BC. Ancient peoples originally used the mixture of animal fats and wood ash for washing textiles and wool rather than for cleaning their bodies.
Ancient Uses And Early Developments
In Babylon and Sumer, craftsmen boiled fats and ashes to scour grease from cloth. The Ebers Papyrus from around 1500 BC shows that Egyptians mixed vegetable and animal oils with alkaline salts for washing and skin medicine.
Romans preferred cleaning with olive oil and a metal tool called a strigil, though Pliny the Elder later mentioned soap (sapo) made by the Gauls as a hair pomade.
Medieval And Renaissance Growth
Bathing habits slowed down in Europe after the Roman Empire fell, which worsened health crises. By the 7th century, soap-making grew into an art in Italy, Spain, and France using olive oil.
British taxes made soap an expensive luxury item for royalty until the 19th century.
Industrialization And Modern Era
French chemists figured out how to make cheap soda ash from salt, turning soap into an everyday household item. Brands like Procter & Gamble and Lever Brothers mass-produced affordable bars like Ivory and Sunlight in the late 19th century.
World War fat shortages led chemists to invent synthetic detergents for heavy cleaning.
Mystic Essance And Their Products
Mystic Essance was created in 1986. From the beginning, they have been distributing alcohol-free perfume and body oils, and over the years they added their own line of hair care and other products. Their most famous products are the Original Egyptian Musk and Nature's Blessing Hair Pomade, Coconut Oil, and Hair Food.
Introducing Neem Soap
The launch starts with Neem Soap, which is all natural and totally handmade. It is vegetarian friendly with no animal products.
Neem oil has been used in traditional and ayurvedic medicines for thousands of years for its anti-bacterial, anti-itching, and anti-aging properties. The benefits of this amazing oil are endless.
